    I think something like that deserves to be in colour. The colour of the flower is nice. Other than the flower, there is not a huge amount of tonal contrast across the image. Again, apart from the flower, there are not really the lines and shapes that could carry a strong B & W image. So, I think colour is the correct choice for this picture.

    If you do have a go at monochrome, Brian, I would crop off quite a bit from the left side.

    I'll give it a try but for me it is the strong slash of green tha5 draws my eyes back to Iris.
