Helpful Posts: OK, that is a tongue twister, and you still are wondering what it is. How about: Pinecone-like Raceme Dendrobium (probably not much better). It is native to the Himalayas and the mountains of northern Indochina. Taken at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew.

Very nice. I used to grow one of those. Even the cold growing Himalayan Orchid couldn't stand an unusual winter frost.
"Pinecone-like Raceme" That is describing the inflourescence (type of flower stalk). It hangs down from a pseudobulb like a pinecone.

Botanist/scientist like James Edwards are the kind of people you'd hate to be with when they mouthed out those kinds of names...
