    Oil Painting Filter

Sometimes this filter is over-used (of which I am guilty). However, I just thought that the image of Chevy was perfect for this filter. What do you think?

    This was the original...

That works Richard but I'd have either one on the wall because the original is very appealing anyway.

Adorable dog! Great photo! The issue for me about the oil painting look is that the background appears in focus and the eyes and nose look in focus but the hair in between looks out of focus. I'm the farthest thing from being an expert about oil painting but I doubt that an oil painter would create such a painting.

Nice, I agree that it's an appropriate photo to convert.

Richard, I think the filter fits Chevy perfectly. Wonderfully done.

This is Chevy's big brother (we think) whose name is Ford...

I think it would be worth looking at the option of retaining the sharp eyes within it Richard.

For this image I prefer the filtered image. Nicely done.

    Eyes Sharpened

Thanks for the suggestion regarding sharpening the eyes. IMO, that really helps this image...

Here it is with the eyes sharpened a bit. I used NIK Viveza Contrast, Structure and Saturation sliders...

    Oil Painting Filter

Here is his brother, Ford, done with the oil painting filter - eyes sharpened on this one also; using NIK Viveza. I like this one better than the original!

I am printing these images on a rough surface (canvas texture) paper and giving them to the families who adopted these dogs...
