    Prefer the B&W but don't think you need all the space to the right.

    I like the light falling across the steps, Simon. This shot might have looked good in b&w too.

    Both nice images Simon IMO. The B&W works well and I'm happy with the composition as is. I too think that the first one would be a good candidate for B&W. Looks like you have the perspective correction under control in both images too.

    Thanks everyone. I did try a black and white of the first image, but in the end I preferred the colour. The yellow against the blue worked well, and I used a subtle tone map to bring out the detail (which is why the blue is so obvious in the shadows).

    I was just about to ask about the blue...I agree with Dave and Greg about the B/W conversion of it too...like both of them and I am also happy with the composition of #2-- no need to change anything.
