Maybe I would lose a fraction from the left side of #1. The background of #3 is slightly on the noisy side but you probably couldn't do much to avoid it.

Personally I like the last one the most. The backlight shows the details and structures of the leaf in a very pleasant way.

Thanks, John. I had a terrible time getting these photos to upload properly. Only a portion of each image was showing, even though they were within the guideline limits of height < 1000 pixels and width >= 1600 pixels. I had to scale them down considerably to get the entire images to show. At the size I posted, you really can't see the very numerous, very small dew droplets on the top-most portion of the seed head photo.

Thanks, Geoff F. I agree that the background of the katydid photo is noisy. Also, now that you mentioned it, I think cropping out a little from the left side of the photo of the soldier beetle would yield a stronger photo, too. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for your kind words, Binnur. My favorite shot in this grouping is #2, the foxtail seed head. I had a hard time uploading all of these images. I could only get the complete photos to show by drastically down-sizing all of them. That lead to all of the dew droplets on the seed head being too small to even notice them in the posted photo.

Thank you, Robert. It was the detail in the leaf's veins that the back-lighting revealed that caught (and brought) my attention to the plant.

I don't know why you had such a problem Randy, didn't you use Tinypic when uploading? If you choose the 'default' option, the image is automatically downsized for your/our screens but it is possible to see it at the original size in lightbox.I'm sure one of the mods might help you to solve the issue
