It's Sunday and no buses; offices in Vienna.

I fancied a nice cup of coffee or tea at the Central Café, it's Sunday and now I understand the bus timetables, no buses. Determined I went underground to Volkstheatre changing for Herrengasse, the deepest station I've ever been in and the lift rather like a glass tardis emerges above ground in this amazing place. It is surreal, a glass box in the corner of this amazing square and I regret not taking a photo of it.

Turns out the Central Café was closed, no water. In this image I forgot to take out the noise, it wasn't really much overexposed either but I can see CA at 200% and find an application in Helicon Filter to remove it too hard to use.

However, does it matter? The sharpness at 200% is amazing.

and this is looking from the tardis.

The top image works in Firefox but has Moiré in IE11.

Steve, did you finally manage to remove CAs ? I do not see them in my browser. I suggest to give the second image a little more contrast.

Adequate sharpness in the first but a bit of noise, a bit soft on the second. You said your camera performs poorly regarding noise, is there an acceptable ISO level where it is less noticeable?

Cheers Robert; I can only see it at 300% zoom but I've got bad eyes. Thanks for the hint

iso 100, but 200 to 400 can be handled by noise reduction. 800 iso is just plain silly and good only for Orton type images. The Canon 50D is the hardest camera I've used, the 10D was much easier with low noise.

It is the model, not your camera. I also use a Canon 50D and can confirm that. Anything over iso 400 does not make fun at all.

    Nice shots Steve

I think they would benefit from a bit more contrast/highlight reduction.

I would love to see the half wall in the foreground removed(first image)...then it will be great; again in the second one also i would love removing the frontal set of floor tiles...

You should be fine for daylight shots then unless you find yourself composing a high dynamic scene. Are there any special presets you can use with that camera model; thinking in-camera hdr or multiple frames?
