    Nikon D800 with Nikkor f/2.8 14-24mm lens. ISO 100, f/8 1/8th second using a 14mm focal length. Shot using a Feisol CT-3372 tripod with a RRS BH-55 ball head. Processing - Photoshop CC 2015.5 / ACR including Nik Color Efex Pro 4 (Pro contrast / ND Gradient / Polarizer) filters in PP.

    Thank you for sharing you info with me I am soon to be an owner of a Nikon 12-24 f/4 (pretty excited) and am hoping to be able to put a little more creativity in my photos with this lens -- hoping if I compose the photo correctly I can draw people into the photo.

    The 12-24mm lens is for a crop frame camera, so you will not be able to go quite as wide as I did on this shot, but is still decently wide. The "secret" of shooting ultra-wide angle lenses is that you usually need a subject in the foreground to ensure that you don't get an image that is just foreground and sky. That is why I included the truck in the foreground.

    I took another shot of the double rainbow just before I took this shot:

    I wasn't sure how well this shot would look because I did not have a foreground element and if the rainbow were not there, the shot would be quite uninteresting.
