    Stagecoach suggested that getting up close would help my image quality. It also creates new challenges for finding the beauty.

    I like it too.

    The only suggestion I have is to crop 10% image width off the right hand side, as I feel that makes a better composition.

    I tried the tighter crop but but I I found the flower overpowering without a lot of bg. Then again my taste has on occasion been suspect.

    A very nice image Brian. I like that you haven't made the bg completely black, it looks good with the touch of red in there.

    You should be seeing colour top and bottom right as well

    There was a bit of a breeze so I went with a subdued flash and a fast shutter.
