Excellent set of images; didn't you see the other person in the first image?
Very well done, Randy!-Randy (Could not resist)
Nice series.
Now you got competition, Randy-Randy.... Anyway, I love #1 that was a perfect shot! Excellent actually...what a pretty angle! I have to go back to the zoo to visit my relations there ...
Well captured Randy.
What a great series of images. I love them all!
I would be interested in learning what equipment was used and at what exposures the images were shot...
Great series Randy
Thank you, Nandakumar. I did not notice the grasshopper in the first image when I took the photo. I only realized it was there when I examined the photos a day or two later. This was the only swallowtail around the thistle, and he was busy going from flower to flower.
Randy, thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like the photos.
Thanks, John. I appreciate your comment.
Thanks, Izzie. These photos were not taken in a zoo butterfly barn; they were taken in large prairie that's maintained by the Forest Preserve District. I've taken some photos inside a butterfly barn recently, too, and I hope to post them in the future.
I'm glad you enjoyed the photos, Richard. All were taken with a Nikon D7200 with a Nikkor 18-300 mm f3.5-6.3 lens. Specific details are: Photo #1 - 1/500 sec; f/6.3; ISO 450; 300 mm. Photo #2 - 1/500 sec, f/7.1; ISO 400, 300 mm. Photo #3 - 1/500 sec, f/6.3; ISO 400; 300 mm. All were hand-held.
Thank you very much, Binnur. I was pleased with the way these photos came out.
