How lucky you are Simon, great environment, great piece of art.
Terrific collection, Simon.
I don't get to come to this site as often as I would like, and tonight I have seen quite a few photos that I have thought that I need to see Hi-Res versions to understand them. These just scream quality, in whatever resolution.
You are so lucky to have such lovely scenery Simon
Nice shots
If I had a view like that outside of my back deck, not sure I'd venture out very often either! Very nice set.
Nice series and indeed why must be, when the wonderful world comes to you.
Thanks for the kind comments, Carol, John, Janis, Tim, Binnur, Maurice, Ernie, Kay. They remind me that I am indeed lucky to have such a view from my house.
Am I correct in assuming that there is no critique of the pics because I didn't specifically request such? If so, let me say I'd welcome feedback of any kind.
Yes probably Simon, plus you said they were lazy pictures; in other words, not much effort put in, so why would we critique
That said, the compositions are what they are because of where you shot from.
A few random thoughts:
It is unfortunate that some of the foreground tree branches cross the horizon line from centre to right.
In all except the rainbow one (#5), I feel that the top 15% of the image height is not really contributing to the compositions, so I'd crop from the top on #1 to #4 inclusive.
Personally, I'd clone out the birds in #2 and #4, but I accept you may not agree.
Hope they help, Dave
Thanks, Dave. Those are useful comments. I agree with you on the branches. I had the trees at the bottom of the garden trimmed a while ago because they were encroaching on telephone and power lines, and was hoping it would be a long time before they infringed on my view again, but not. As for the cropping, I was trying to move away from 16:9 but think it would be better here.
I must confess, I hadn't even noticed the speck of a bird in 2. In 4, I'd actually waited for a bird to fly in to frame, hoping it would add something to the image, but it's just a distraction.
Awesome set...every image has a different story to tell....
