WOW! what a great pair of images...simply awesome!!!
Great shots, love the second one.
Beautiful images John I can see some greens in the sky in #1, IMO they need fixing
I think composition on the first image is great. I think adding some punch to the trees on the side of the gorge would help it though. Second image of the falls is great, good composition and prossesing.
It's a beautiful park, been there many times.
Terrific images, both of them, I particularly like the second as it gives me that sense of standing right there in the scene, that I love about landscape photography, so great composition.
Where is Letchworth? I must go & Google.
Wow, a lovely place indeed, sadly a bit too far for a day trip from NYCity for me next month.
(Getting excited for our trip )

Interesting location and well captured.
Beautiful images of a lovely area. It's hard to believe that I grew up in New York but had never heard of this park. Just goes to show you, people from New York City don't know much about the rest of their state.
I have traveled all over the USA and the rest of the world but, have had no travel experiences in the state in which I grew up

This is off topic, but unfortunately, it isn't just downstaters who often fail to realize how much beautiful territory there is in New York. The Finger Lakes area, which is to the east of Letchworth, is beautiful--full of lakes, limestone gorges, farms, and forest. Up in the northeast is the Adirondack Park, which at 6.1 million acres (I've also read 6.4) is almost twice as large as Yellowstone and Glacier combined. This from Wikipedia:
And a few shots of mine, at the risk of posting things I have posted before:The park's 6.1 million ac (2.5 million ha) include more than 10,000 lakes, 30,000 miles of rivers and streams, and a wide variety of habitats including wetlands and old-growth forests.
If you have cause to come back at some point, you might find it worth heading north. And then, of course, it's a short hop into northern New England...
The one drawback for photographers--leaving aside the usually copious bugs--is the humidity, which causes real problems for vistas.
Located in WNY area. http://nysparks.com/parks/79/details.aspx
Thanks for commenting.
Both really great shots, John, but the first is outstanding. I've been there [who from WNY hasn't?] and have made or seen a thousand images from the park and its gorge, but this is the best I've seen. Really outstanding! Thanks for sharing.
