You definitely want a UV filter over the front element for this angle, have you seen what that stuff does to car paint? Now imagine it on your multi-coated lens element

Hi Dipayan: Your peacocks are beautiful. I take it in India they roam wild. Here in Canada they are either in zoos or on farms. Below is a shot that I took at a local park through a fence.

This one has been posted here before in another thread. I don't know how the moderators feel, but I like the idea of these individual threads for certain subjects. It makes things easier to find and is a good place to have tips on shooting and discussion about the topic. Of course as with the other topical threads, I still think it should be optional whether the poster wishes to start a seperate thread.

If I am not mistaken peacocks were imported to India from China and placed on the estates of the Maharajah. They could roam freely but why relocate when you have good real estate.

What an impressive set, Steve. Does your work get published in magazines or books? The one with the baby duck wading through the water is just so unique. If you want a photo that can tell a story, that would be one.

That explains a lot. The 300 f4 is a cracking lens. I'd like the Nikkor equivalent. It's no good without your skill however!!

I think this may be a young jay. Certainly sounded like a jay and I saw others flying by.
If I remember correctly, I ran Rob's Orton action on this one.
