Thread: Lens purchase on Ebay

    Re: Lens purchase on Ebay

Always worth keeping an eye on MPB Photographic. Very honest about condition and 6 month warranty. I have had several items from them and all are in excellent condition

Whoops...just spotted Steve's (Arith) post. I can still endorse them though

Sorry I have not replied to this thread yet, I've been away for a few days, but I have read all of your comments.

I just want to say thank you very much for all your input and advice.

I think you are all right and the risks involved with buying a lens on Ebay heavily outweigh the potential savings in cost. I think I'll just stump up the extra cash!

    Thanks again!

    Re: Ebay

i would say shop around, especially when looking for used equipment, i bought a used 35-70mm F2.8 lens from london camera exchange for £200 with short warranty, the same lense fetches £300 on ebay, same with a SB800 strobe, far cheaper from london camera than ebay, cheers martyn

    Re: Ebay

i assume Nikon has a forum site similar to Pentax (my camera) . does this have a classifieds forum, as this from my own experience is one of the safest places to buy apart from a bone fide dealer. have had some very good deals this way and if you pick up you get to meet like minded people which is nice to turn aforum name into a face. this is also another way to buy on ebay you pay on collection, if they won,t have that let it go
