Except for the reflection towards the left bottom corner, very nice image
We have got so used to seeing your great and extraordinary images that although this one is not a wrong image but a normal image it doesn't get as many favs as the others Jean
Jean....I like it, I like it !!!!!!!
Griddi....
Hi Jean,
As Binnur says, this doesn't really have the appeal, nor hold the interest as many of your recent posts have.
For me it lacks a key element that I could say was 'the subject' amongst the 3 shelves of books.
If mine, I'd probably have burned the wooden surface on the left hand edge, particularly at the top, to reduce the attraction it has on my eyes.
I'm not convinced, as you were apparently 'square-on' to the window, that a polarising filter would have been of much real benefit - it may have been possible to rotate it to reduce the reflections in one corner or side of the image, but I'm not sure it would deal with all of them and the overall reduction in exposure may have offset the gain. That said, I've not tried a shot like this recently myself, to confirm my theory.Shot without polarizing filter, so some reflections remain.

Hi Dave, you are right, this picture has a signification for me, it was shot in a "passage parisien" where shops selling such old books are numerous. For me it lacks a key element that I could say was 'the subject' amongst the 3 shelves of books.
I think, but I'm not sure 100 % that it would have help to reduce reflections.I'm not convinced, as you were apparently 'square-on' to the window, that a polarizing filter would have been of much real benefit - it may have been possible to rotate it to reduce the reflections in one corner or side of the image, but I'm not sure it would deal with all of them and the overall reduction in exposure may have offset the gain. I made some adjustments and uploaded some pictures of these peculiar "passages parisiens"
Hi Jean,
The modified version does address the issues on the left hand side.
In the UK, we would call a place like that an 'Arcade' I think (especially the old ones), although modern (US inspired) Malls can be decorated similarly. They are nice places and we have them in several cities over here. We even have one in Windsor, where I live, but it is mostly a 'modern' adaptation of the old station building, rather than an 'original'.
Cheers, Dave
Nice set of images Jean Do you shoot in manual mode or do you use AV / TV modes depending on the situation?
Excellent shots; to bring more life to life already in existence is the responsibility of a street photographer; you have done that with adeptness; well done!!!
