Cool capture, made me smile.
Right, well, mmmm, perhaps.
First of all, technically it's a very good image. Beautiful detail.
As for the subject matter. The fact is that your dog seems perfectly happy and relaxed and not at all stressed. That being the case, then it is a lovely, amusing, gentle and loving picture.
Bailey made me smile. Lovely !
The story behind the shot.
Bailey has an allergy that causes him to scratch and bite, likely to gluten. A couple weeks ago he got a hold of a scone and has had a devil of a time. He really dislikes the Elizabethan collar, so the baby clothes are to keep his hide intact until the irritation has passed. It seems to be working and he tolerates dress up. The pants will have to go.
In that case, what a sensible and sensitive thing to do.
Bailey made my night a lot brighter.
Cheers Ole
I'll wear such cloth next time I'll have some itching
Wonderful shot! I LOVE IT! I might suggest cropping a bit off the top, right below the top of the couch. That seems to place more emphasis on Bailey.
Have you tried any medications for Bailey? Our vet will often recommend/prescribe medications which will alleviate itching.
We will add oil to our dogs food if they tend to itch. Either an over-the-counter fish-oil capsule designed for dogs or simply some olive or coconut oil (in small quantities) seems to help, whatever the cause of the itching...
There are shampoos, either over-the-counter or prescription, which also seem to help itching problems. These shampoos often need to be left on the dog's coat for ten to fifteen minutes before rinsing off. We usually wrap our dogs in a towel while we are waiting to rinse off the shampoo.
I had a spaniel with skin problems and a vet recommended Chlor Tabs which are available in the human medication section of Walmart. These anti histamine tablets will ease itching with a dose of 1/2 tab in the morning and another in the evening (my Springer Spaniel was roughly about the same size as Bailey. As far as my vet understands, there are no side effects from even a long-term regimen of Chlor Tab. They are also quite inexpensive and the meds cost only pennies a day...
We have gone through this before, he is currently being treated with an antihistamine to relieve the itching. I am going to watch him a little closer when out in public...too many goodies are around at these events for a dog with a good nose and no discipline to leave them alone. Lucky for him, dead smelly fish are still available.
