A few larvae cover themselves in dried excrement and plant debris like this. In the UK our Fleabane Tortoise Beetle is similar and it waves the debris around in a threatening manner when annoyed.

Before we ended up with too many neighbours and too much light I enjoyed peering through a telescope and exploring the heretofore unknown . Now i get the same satisfaction peering through a camera. It is an amazing universe.
