Good or bad is not the same as interesting or boring. Even in CinC mini competitions you find very "good" photographs not doing as well as a not so good but very interesting photographs.

Thanks for posting. Interesting. This is one thing that makes macro photography appealing. A nice flower or bug looks just as interesting if captured next to a suburban garage as if shot in the wilderness.

Trevor, I totally agree with your comment. However, being a "good" photographer is recognizing that those 999 photos are crappy and not showing them.

Mostly, one man's good is another man's dross. It's all in the eye of the beholder. The Turner Portrait Prize comes to mind......

Here's a bad shot I almost deleted but did something cool with using heavy post-processing. It's a fully zoomed in view taken at the beach.

Some people who see a bad photo think it was taken by a poor photographer, but when they see a good photograph they think it was taken by a good camera.
