I know its not good to copy others styles but they can be a good starting point to create your own variations or just as suggestions for what might be a look you can work with:

I have something similar saved as pre-sets for when I need a large output - typically all my images are down-sampled for the web so the final stage output sharpening via basic Smart Sharpening is more than enough.

Yes, smart sharpen does a good job. To be honest I try to spend as little time as I can in CS, or even LR for that matter. Jpegs with in camera sharpening are usually good enough (is that blasphemy?)🙃 as I rarely print more than 5x7.

It seems to be a thing with Fuji users as the jpeg engine is very, very good and there are lots of tweaks available in the camera. I still prefer to shoot in raw but I do typically apply the film simulations via LR and tend not to work the files too hard.

Thanks, here are some tips on sharpening X Trans Files for what it is worth...

I'm not a Fuji shooter but information on sharpening and/or NR always catch my attention so I read the linked article. I don't understand why sensor type makes a difference in PP. As I understand it, the de-bayering of "conventional" sensors takes place in camera. So regardless of what sensor type one is shooting by the time you get to PP on a RAW file you are simply dealing with pixels. Or am I missing something?

The raw file is literally that - the bayer filter needs to be processed either in the camera when it produces a jpeg or by your software so you can deal with an image. Adobe is notoriously poor at doing this with RAF files but for 99.9999% of what I do with my images its more than good enough - the best is Irident but its a right PITA to work with.

I really don't know how the above applies to jpegs that have been processed in camera but the Fuji jpegs still are prone to "waxing" when sharpened too heavily. I didn't ever see this particularly ugly artifact with NEF files or Nikon jpegs. Something is definitely going on there with Lightroom + anything X Trans. But as Robin says, it's generally more than good enough.

PS: I remember doing some testing between LR and NX2 and found LR wanting in comparison. But again, its fine for anything I do, and it's only when I'm in a particularly fussy frame of mind that I notice (100% crops).
