Very nice conversion in #1 Jean and nice portrait of a lovely but bothered boy I would reduce the saturation of the colorful scarf(?) behind him as the colors distract a bit.

Good images, I particularly like the long shadows in the first one.

    Re: Street photography

    I really like #1 Jean,

Many elements, most of which are very well placed or timed, with good light and great control of highlights and shadows.

Sure I have seen another shot from that location within the last few months, but I don't remember it being this good.

    Cheers, Dave

Brilliant shot at Tulleries and great use of colour in the image of a boy, is it possible to reduce the orange, possibly make it very slightly darker.

    Re: Street photography

    Two nice images Jean.

I too like the first one, the capture and PP work are excellent and the textures are very nicely done and fit the scene very well.

The second image seems fine to me from a brightness standpoint, but I run my screen at 120 candela / square meter and that is a bit lower than most people would set it. I find that the post-processing on the background, especially on the people standing behind the boy a bit heavy. The lighting does not look "right" in an outdoor setting as I would expect the people behind the boy to be a lot brighter. I suspect some fairly heavy dodging and other darkening techniques were employed in that image.

Nicely done on both, but especially the first as it is very dynamic capture.

In the first, I particularly like the way the street lamp on the rt is just peeking in to the frame, I feel it acts as a bit of a backstop, and send my eye back in to the frame and along the 'line' of lamps.

It looks better Jean but I must tell you that the shot was already nice as it was. Our comments are just for some tidying up. As I said before the boy's expression makes the photo for me
