Helpful Posts: While admiring this hippeastrum it occurred to me that the stamens viewed against the striped background of the petal looked like notes on a stave - falling out of the trumpet-shaped flower.

Good shot, nice colors, maybe reduce the impact of the flash (using a screen or a a diffuser next time)

Richard, this is the speciosum - it is always the first to wake up. And sometimes flowers in the middle of February.
