cable release
As part of my star trail reseach one web site mentioned a cable release you could set exposure time and number of shots on. Can you buy one of these for the D90?

I bought one of these a few months ago - a Yongnuo MC-36b. It does all that I want and has performed very well. This is the manufacturer's site. You will need to Google for sales. That 'b' may indicate the make of Camera,, so it may be a different code.

The Canon equivalent was about £120. This one cost me about £35 as I recall. I believe they do a Nikon version too, but you need to check that it will work with your specific Nikon.

Re: cable release
I just found my old order on Amazon. This is the Nikon D90 model. Read the technical details and product description for full details. See if anyone else here can suggest something else.

Re: cable release
I don’t know about the D90, but this RF one for Nikon is very good and is only $15.17 - under ten UK pounds and that includes shipping!

Maybe the seller does one for a D90 too

Re: cable release
Hi Rob,
If you use manual settings, that'll take care of the exposure time (once you know what you want to use).
Hasn't the D90 got the interval shooting in it's menus?
My D5000 does and that's based on the D90 (same sensor, etc.)
Have a look in the manual.
Cheers,
