    Problem is the beetle's body is so short that this foreshortened capture can't really emphasize its body. Good close-up.

    Good head view, Brian. Plenty of detail on the antennae and jaws, both of which would probably be needed if this was part of a sequence for identification.

    I was wandering through the potato patch when I met this fellow. I set it up so that I was at about a fourty-five degree angle above him. He moved and reared up to look at me as I clicked. Out of the dozen or so shots I took this was the grabber. I suppose this proves the rule about getting the eyes in focus.
