    Hi Tejal,

If you had told us this was shot during an earthquake, I'd believe you, assuming the smoke and debris is from a falling building out of shot to the left.

However, I assume it is some form of ceremonial burning and the debris is actually nothing more than shreds of paper being wafted aloft by the thermal up currents of air from the fire, which is out of shot below the image.

I'd rather see more detail in the shadow/dark areas.
There is also, due to unlucky timing, a puff of smoke in front of the idol's trunk, which is unfortunate.

However, the composition basically works OK for me.

    HTH, Dave

If you are using LR (or ACR in PS CC) you can easily recover information in dark areas in using "shadows cursor" to the right. You may have to reduce the noise level in using "level cursor" in "noise reduction"tab too.

    Nice picture BTW.

Thank you Dave for your comment. This pic was taken during Ganesh (Lord ganesha) immersion rally. People were bursting crackers. The smoke is of crackers only. I liked the atmosphere (considering good opportunity for photography ) and more over the guy in front was rushing out of the smoky part which made me to take this pic.

Tejal ... I've attached my suggestion. My thoughts are that framing (cropping) might be tighter to develop the tension between the three main elements of the picture. The eyes of Ganesha (am I right?) looking at the cell phone holder and his hand, the cell phone and holder and relation to Ganesha, and then the crowd's eyes upon the cell/holder. All this provides a triangle the eye moves within. The photo might then be enhanced to bring out the eyes of the individuals, Ganesha and the cellphones screen increasing the purpose of line and tension.

Hi, Tejal. I think you saw a good opportunity. IMO Roger's edit brings it to full fruition. The original is a bit too wide and too dark for us to see the faces on the other side of the smoke.

Nothing like that Dave. ☺. Street Photography is all about allowing viewers to create their own story when they see a street shot (IMO) ☺.

This tight crop is working quite well. That's for sharing your version.

I like that you included the guy in the foreground but think image would work just as well without him. To me, it is all about the ganesh the smoke, and the flying debris. Well done.
