I read somewhere, could have even been the BBC, that 80% of Finland's women are graduates ( I think here it is much much lower), and that the only way to compete in the global market is to maximise the skills base.
Oh dear, isn't that different to current policy to reduce graduates, or am I not reading it right; in any case are more than 80% of British women graduates or does it matter.
I think it does, but in any case we could always import the skills into the top jobs I suppose.
I can remember that not long ago if you had a degree in engineering you had to go abroad for a job but we ain't got enough people to build a railway because we don't know how to make tunnels.
That's it, rant over cos it will go on forever if I don't shut up now. ps I'm not picking on women except to point out the remarkable and impressive high percentage of graduates, it is actually the norm in Finland.
