    Honoring an old man

Prob not what you expected to see, but he is an old man, and I took some portraits of him yesterday to honor him :-) This is Corey. I have had him since he was 7; he is now 21. In our riding years, he took very good care of me, and I promised, if I could, I would care for him for the rest of his life. He's now at my house enjoying a retired life - he eats, sleeps, enjoys sunshine, as well as, falling snow.

ISO 2500; 1/250s; f5; 105mm (taken with my 810 - the reason I wanted the higher shutter speed as this camera is not forgiving with the slightest moment on my part)

I love the framing and the look in the eye. The shutter speed doesn't seem at all high to me; certainly the slowest I would probably use in this situation.

Thanks John. He's a real character; sometimes when I grab his halter to give him a good brushing, he sees me coming and goes the other direction. Although I would like to get on him, I can't risk a fall.

    Re: Honoring an old man

Thanks Mike. His eye is what I feel in love with the first time i saw him - so kind and large.

Ideally I would have liked a lower ISO, but the aperture and shutter speed was were I wanted it... so that's why I mentioned it... in case someone was wondering why?
