Orange ladybug
Ok, it's the same bug - same issue with the light from above creating a large specular highlight but otherwise it works I think. C&c welcome of course.

Re: Orange ladybug
Nice, but ... (you just knew I'd say that didn't you?)
I'd crop 10% of image width off the left hand side - so the composition is simplified by the removal of the blobs at left edge.
I do really like the bokeh on specular highlights in background, are they fortuitous or did you do something to generate them?
e.g. splash leaves behind with water?
... and if you didn't, that's something to remember (and try) in future.
TIA, Dave

Re: Orange ladybug
Thanks Dave - yes, that crop could work.
I must add a mist water bottle to my macro kit - these specular highlights were created in post but they would look more natural if I had generated them in-camera. Still, they really work I think.

Re: Orange ladybug
Would have been nice if window shaped, but as is it is a bit strong. Nice effort, nice bokeh, nice composition.

Re: Orange ladybug
Yes, the bokeh highlights work well as a complement to the pattern on the bug's back.

Re: Orange ladybug
with this type of shot judicious cloning could go a long way to eliminate the bright spot. This was quick and dirty but it does indicate the possibilities .
