    Grace the Fish Dog

No long commentary this time. Just some shots of Grace fishing for salmon this summer.

    Use the light box.

    1) There they are.

    2) No, over there...

    3) Where'd they go, Dad?

    4) Heck with it. I'm going to find a stick.

Nice series. About as lucky at fishing as I am. The main difference is that when I give up I play with a golf ball instead of a stick. A stick is probably a better idea...

    Dan,

Nice photographs. I could have used a pointing dog like her the other day while fishing. I fished the Gallatin and a few tributaries near Big Sky MT and was almost skunked. My daughter's GSP is great with birds, not so good with trout.

Glad you folks enjoyed the photos.

Roy, the choice of collar or no is always a dilemma. I go back and forth on risk vs benefit. Usually when we are out on the boat we take it off of her. I think this was our first day of the trip and we hadn't taken it off of her yet. When she was a pup she came back out of the brush one time with her collar missing. I shuddered to think how she lost it and what would have happened if it had been a little tighter. Then again, one time without her collar she disappeared over a mountain in hot pursuit of a deer. She was gone quite a while and I was kicking myself that she wasn't wearing a phone number. It's a pick your poison situation.

I've heard golf clubs described as little crooked sticks. Pricey ones. I'm thankful that game never appealed to me. I love golf courses. But not golf
