During his two terms in office (April 1968-June 1979 and March 1980-June 1984) as Canadian Prime Minister, Pierre Elliot Trudeau became the darling of the media and a Canadian phenomenon known as "Trudeaumania" came into being.
In 2015, Justin won the Federal election and became the first son of a former PM to also hold the office.
Once again Trudeaumania has swept the country and he has become a Pop icon.
This June he attended Gay Pride here in Toronto and shooting with my camera above my head, I got some shots of him as he waded into the crowds.
To show the size and scope of the crowd, I used a wide lens.
In this photo, he is the man in the white shirt underneath the black light fixture on the left hand pillar.
Justin Trudeau became the first Canadian head of government to attend Gay Pride. As soon as he got out of his car, a roar went up from the crowd and he immediately walked to the edge of the barriers to high-five and shake hands with members of the crowd.
The two rather large, unsmiling gentlemen to either side and slightly behind the PM are members of the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) Security Detail, assigned to guard him.
Needless to say, their facial expressions indicated their state of mind as the PM and the crowd engaged in a lovefest.
