    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post MONOCHROME images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture) (Click the "Go Advanced" button)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread.

    Re: Foggy Morning

Getting too good, actually in the past there was black and white, that's it. Everything else since is a bit wotsit, like what sat, I can't work it out. You have a very atmospheric shot; but I would have like a lot more detail in the forground, a lot I mean a lot, then obviously blurred insignificant background. What I need is sharp detail in the forground cos you can, and then the gradient rather severe in the background.

    The last days of summer

Shot today. Summer has nearly gone. Switched the central-heating on today.

There is so much to admire in this image. The guy's white outfit and umbrella, contrasting with the lady's darker outfit; the juxtaposition of the pair; the position of the umbrella; the rain. It could be posed. Was it?

    Re: Merci

Congrats John. When I first saw this shot I thought talk about being in the right place at the right time, and then having the skill to get the shot so perfectly. It did not occur to me that it might be staged but it could not have been any better if it had been.
It really is a great shot for all the reasons Mike mentioned. I still don't think it was staged, but it's sooo good it looks like it could have been

I am still trying to work out who nicked meercat.com's smoking jacket. Very deserving winner John. One in a million shot and beautifully captured
