Topaz Texture Effects

I have Photoshop CC with On1 Ten (soon to be On1 RAW) and NIK Software.

I am wondering what, if anything, that I could do with Topaz Texture Effects that I could not accomplish with the three above programs?

$59.95 USD is not that expensive but, I really don't want to spend money to duplicate capabilities.

I have it Richard (bought at an offer price) and the answer to your question is probably nothing provided you have the overlays etc. that are built in. That can be achieved by collecting suitable images of interesting textures over time unless you are lazy like me.

It is just a matter of when enough is enough. I have Perfect Effects 10 which has a Texturizer feature. I use Photoshop Elements 12 which has a number of creative filters that can be stacked and fine tuned. I have the Nk Suite that has Analog Efex Pro with a variety of textures. Will Topaz Textures offer something new and different? Sure. Could these effects be created without Topaz? Probably. These plug-ins offer shortcuts to specific goals. Give the program a free trial. If you like the ease and precision, the ability to get the effect without the strain and stress of figuring it all out on your own, go for it. I have taken my foot off the pedal and have not purchased this program. What I have is enough. For now, at least.
