    Halifax Fog.

What Halifax is apparently quite well known for. We had the unique pleasure of dining out on the boardwalk in the fog the evening before (it was still 26 degrees) and it lasted through the bright morning that followed. For once, I had a camera with me.

Very evocative. This is what is known in eastern English coasts as a Fret.

You have managed to get some clear reference points with the foreground sea and the boat bow which obviously makes this appear as a truely misty day. Too often, without a reference point, misty scenes just look out of focus.

You have definitely captured that "truth" about Halifax. I used to travel to and from Halifax fairly regularly on business. The number of flight delays and cancellations due to fog were always part of the travel experience on my flight in and / or out of Halifax.

I remember watching the little ferry boats, likely the one in this image, traveling between Halifax and Dartmouth from the office I was working from or from my hotel room. I never actual took one as I usually had a car and used the bridges to cross between the two cities.

Regardless, a very nice image in what is a fairly typical situation at this time of year.

As others have said fog is not easy to capture. You did well.

Thanks all for the comments. It was nice to see a place in all its guises. The bright sun that we had for most of the time wasn't the best for photography.
