    The Glow : C&C Welcome

Hi, going forward on my photography venture I stopped and clicked another shot. Can you please review it and let me know what exactly is missing for it to make it much better?

Its been a long time i havnt posted anything here as I got busy with my Fashion Assignments and I recently got a chance to visit Ladakh, India.

Please provide your views and suggestion with composition, frame, crops.

    Thank You

PS : Please click on the image for lightbox screen view (Highly recommended)

    Hi Raj,
My eyes in this photo only focus on the bottom of the photo. Landscapes need a mix of foreground, middle ground and background. Your background does not work.

The way I would have shot this photo would be in landscape mode zoomed in to bring out the contrast in light across the trees. The hills at the back would occupy the top third of the photo. If I did not have the zoom range I would not shoot and wait for a better opportunity

This is a brave composition Raj and it works for me. Technically, the darker hues (weight) should be at the bottom but the gully running down the hillside brings my eyes back to the highlights every time. If the crop hadn't been as high as it is, it wouldn't have worked as well. As I say, it works for me.

This is a shot I would have happily taken, knowing I would have to do some post processing to make it really work. The things I would have done, to fit into my aesthetic, are two: 1) lighten the background just a bit so more detail is available to keep the eye engaged, and 2) cropped the top so that the prominent diagonal line on the upper left fell into the top left corner.

What a treat to be able to see such scenery!

It does look a lot better in lightbox where the fine detail in the background becomes apparent.

After several attempts to "modify your original, I have come to the conclusion what you have is the optimal end result. Cheers.

Brilliant composition, Raj. The brightly lit trees against the dim background have provided a great sense of depth. If anything, I might darken the area below the trees so that the image doesn't have light tones touching the lower edge of the frame. Well captured.

It would not have occurred to me to shoot this as you did. And I've learned a lesson. We can talk forever about tweaking the crop etc. but I really like it as-is. There is just enough detail in the BG to identify it and as framed it gives the sense of immensity of the hill/mountain in the BG. Nicely seen and captured. Well done.

Excellent image, Rajneesh. This is definitely a very unique shot - well seen and well taken. Normally we tend to put the heavy darks near the bottom and the light colours near the top, and you have reversed this.

Do you need the full wall as shown? I think so, as we start seeing a bit more lightness as we get near the top of the frame and that helps with the balance of the overall image.

    Nicely done, sir!

Lovely image, Raj! A possible improvement would be if there had more trees available left and right in which case landscape could have had even more impact. But very impressive as it is!
