    I am hoping there is not supposed to be a relationship between the two images, because if there is, I've missed it completely.

    I think I need more information as to the type of film and processing chemistry before I can make a proper comment. Also, the first image has a major problem: The steering wheel is on the wrong side. :-) (it's an American joke.)

    The first doesn't do anything for me, but I like the lines and textures in the second. I'd consider upping the contrast and structure/clarity
