It is developed as a plugin and that what it's still is. But you can use it as a stand alone program. I can't change that. In your example there's a file tab. There're 1 or 2 by, by head for I can't check it on this pc, that don't have that. There you've to move the file to the exe-file to open them. It works, but not with the standard expectations you've of a program.
I think as long Louise doesn't say what she is doing and/or seeing, it's a waist of time.

Mention the first remark under the video.These programs don't have a file tab. To open these with an image you must drag the image file to the exe file. Then it opens with the dragged file.You can't use all of Nik tools as standalone. Only HDR, Color Efex, Analog Efex allow you to open images. Remaining others tool not allow you to open the images
I think the programs with a file tab, like the one in the video, have a 64-bit shell around it. I can't open them in xp, 32-bit.
