Has anyone used this please?
I have the full set which I purchased long before it became a freebie from Google. There's quite a lot of on line tutorials on the suite of programs Louise

Where is the best place to get it from and do you have to add the plug in's seperately please?
Had them from way back when they cost money - they install as a set buy you have the choice which software you attach them to.
Can you use them on their own please?
It's available a free download on line. Just Google Nik efex and you will see the download button. If it's for Lightroom the plug ins will be installed for you. I don't know if it runs on its own or not.
I will just download it and see what happens, does it take up much room?
They don't take up much space.
Though they are designed to be used as plug-ins, I understand they can be used standalone. I *think* the techniques is to set up Dan icon on the desktop and drop the image file onto it.

It can run as a Photoshop plug-in or run along with Lightroom. NIK can also run as a free standing program (although I have never used it this way)! As a Plug-in, I simply go to the filters group in Photoshop (both CS6 and CC work this way) and select NIK Collection. You then see a drop down menu with the various choices.
I have been using the NIK programs for years and purchased the set after Google bought out the San Diego NIK Company and drastically reduced the price. It is now available free of charge, as noted above.
Although I do use some of the presets in NIK Efex (mostly skin smoothing and glamour glow along with vignettes) my main use of NIK is the RAW Image Presharpener and NIK Viveza. These are both parts of the NIK Software package. I use them on all my images. NIK Viveza is, IMO, simply mind bogglingNIK Silver Efex Pro 2 is also a wonderful way to convert images to B&W.
One of my favorite aspects of NIK Software is the Control Point System which is available on virtually all their NIK mini-programs. This allows selecting portions of images with utmost ease. I would definitely recommend downloading the NIK Software...

Well I've downloaded it but It's not showing in my programmes only in my downloads folder. How do I access it please?
I purchased mine as well and have used it both ways; as a plug-in and stand alone. If its in your download folder then you'll need to launch the file.
Clicked 'OPEN' on it in my files and it just downloads again, nothing else.
Did you download an EXE file or a DMG (PC or MAC Computer)? When you click on either one of these downloaded files, an installer should start and it is simply a matter of following the prompts.
If this doesn't happen, then maybe you didn't get an executable install file downloaded.
Go to this page - https://www.google.com/nikcollection/ - and note at the top of the page the "download" command, click on it and select the appropriate file for your system and try again. Hope this helps.![]()
Where do I find that please?Go to the installation dir

Louise,
Do a search for nikcollection-full on your hard drive. Go to that location and launch the program.
