    Fascinating; the flash revealing beads of moisture on it and hence helping 'shape' it.

    Not to put to fine a point on your comment but I'm not seeing beads of moisture unless what I think of as white dots is what you're referring to?

    Did you notice notice what may be antennae popping out just under the leaf?

    Great captured detail. The blue trim naturally complements the tan/orange pattern.

    If there is no moisture on it, the surface must be very smooth/shiny to reflect the flash like that - amazing nature!

    If you don't mind me asking, what aperture setting did you use?

    Don't mind at all. Here's all the relevant data:
    ISO 100, F/16, 1/80s and fill flash set to 0.-7.
    Part of the detail comes from using the depth merge function in Gimp.

    Overnight we had a lot of rain and there is high humidity today so the cocoon is damp.
