Nice shots, Maurice. I prefer the composition of the second. I think the long exposure works better in this one - for the water, that is. IN the first shot, the water in lower right of frame is a bit confused for my taste - neither fast enough nor slow enough.

I especially like the second image too. I like the composition which draws my eye along the foreground diagonals to meet at the sun's reflection, and from there straight up to the setting sun. You got a fortuitous break in the clouds right where the sun shone through. I suspect you benefited from some patience to get that effect, in as much as the clouds are otherwise pretty thick.

    Hi Maurice,

I think I agree with Greg, I saw these yesterday and couldn't think of anything helpful to say.

I also prefer the second for composition and overall effect, the way the sun reflection takes the eye through the gaps between the rocks is great.

The first has me checking the horizon (which is level) because the various lines of clouds and rocks give the view an unbalanced feel - but I still can't really describe what to do about that - perhaps a severe crop off the bottom, or left hand side - but that makes it not the picture you took (if you know what I mean).

Jeff, a little patience and a lot of luck. Thanks for feedback.

My thoughts also Maurice. The sun is a stronger lead compositionally than the shoreline because the surf bottom right in no. 1, is a little distracting. Nice light in both though.
