    100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II on 5D2

My 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II works great on my 7D and 7D2 cameras but, I am disappointed by its performance on my 5D2 (which works just fine with my 70-200mm f/4L IS lens).

It seems to vignette at image left and right and doesn't seem very sharp, although I shot this ripod mounted.

Here is the full frame of the image with the example of the vignetting...

Are the apparent differences between vignettes anything to do with any lens correction profiles being used/not used?

Here's a review that shows the vignetting of that lens

You use PS CC 2015.5, so I'm not sure why you are even seeing vignetting, if you have the profile corrections checked in ACR, it should be being corrected automatically.

I accept that won't help with the softness though.

Is it possible softness is an AF front or back focus issue? (that might also be correctable)
Or is it more general than that?

With the image posted would atmospheric conditions play a part in apparent 'softness' so possibly not a good example. Strangely the Exif is not showing aperture value to me, TX used?

Thank you Dave... The profile corrections were not checked. Checking the box made all the difference. It also seems sharper...

    This was 1/320 second @ f/5.6
I used NIK RAW presharpener for initial sharpening and the Photoshop CC unsharp filter for output sharpening
I also used NIK Viveza and reduced the blue in the background mountains. I do think that there was some haze in this image.

I have been working on this image partially in Adobe Camera Raw, partially in NIK and partially in Photoshop CC. Here is the final result...
