    Moosetaken Alignment

I was trying to photograph some historical buildings in downtown Victoria. The space was limited and had many obstructions and distractions, so I as really trying to the create images without them. In doing so I did not realize that by fluke I had made an inadvertent alignment that gave the statue a pair of antlers! Sometimes you just have to chuckle...

    Moosetaken Alignment

And no, I'm not inclined to try to fix it, it's too funny!

It's so funny that I would be inclined to use a square format to emphasize the humor of the mistake.

If he is a respectable person... i am not sure whether it is good to be shown in a funny way like this; if you don't agree with this view, please excuse my opinion

Good one. As carefully placed as the "antlers" are, I have a hard time believing that your "mistake" was not intentional.

    lols.

    Hi Nandakumar:

He is long dead now, so I suspect he will not be feeling too embarrassed. As I understand it this gentleman was known for his sense of humour, so he would probably have had a good laugh himself. Actually I think the real insult is sticking his statue and environs in a backwater area of a park.

No, total cock-up on my part!

I am not a fan of photo competitions because I think that, once you get past the technical elements of an image, it's very much a matter of opinion. Consequently, I would have marked this one down heavily for a fairly gross technical error. If I had take the shot minutes before or afterwards the "antlers" would have been in shadow and essentially invisible. Never let it be said I cannot laugh at myself!

When I first viewed it, I thought the guy could have been a shakespearean character.
