    Great shot. The use of B&W would eliminate all that distracting green. Just my opinion.

    +1. It could for instance, be darkened in the conversion.

    Jim, I'm afraid I find the B&W very bland, I dunno! If you maybe adjust the contrast, highlights, lowlights or whatever, my feeling is that the original has more impact.

    Not sure what software you're using Jim but if it has a conversion filter as opposed to just de-saturating the image, you can take down the yellow and green channels to darken the BG and increase the separation further. A bit quick and dirty and clearly you can adjust the degree of darkening to taste but something like this:
