    Lady with parasol

Taken in front of the Eaton Center Shopping Mall in the heart of Toronto's downtown, earlier this summer while leading a street photography group from my photo club.
We were waiting for the rest of the group to arrive, when I noticed an attractive woman standing at the corner, being photographed by her companion.
The woman was wearing a brightly coloured print dress, and carried a light green parasol.
In the bright early morning sunlight, she stood in sharp contrast to the people in shadow next to her, her companion and most of the dark background, and I liked the scene so much that I grabbed this shot. Afterwards, I went up to them, and using their camera, took a shot of the two together.

Your lady with the umbrella looks like a Japanese without the wooden shoes...timely shot!

I like that you chose not to isolate the woman as this shows more of the environment she was in and gives more interest to the story. Nicely done, Robert.

For what it is worth, I think that the lady's dress is Chinese. Neat capture. Quick reflexes, a shot like this doesn't linger around more than a split second...

    Thanks, Richard.
That's the Theory of Candid Street Photography. Always be ready. Expect the unexpected. See it. Shoot it. Move on.
