Nice set, Chris. I wonder if the first one would benefit from a small crop from the bottom. Just enough to remove some of the out of focus reeds in the foreground.
I'll give it a shot though on most occasions, I like leaving some OOF foreground for a sense of continued depth. See if you like this version for the same reason, except in this instance, it is BG OOF.
I had not edited this when I made the original post. A note*** this newest image is pretty close to life size. They're small, fast, do aerial acrobatics of the first order and pretty, too.

"Shattered" is just unbelievably good because of its color, texture and composition!
EDIT: Chris removed the photo that my comment is about.

Nice set, Chris. The "shattered" is well seen and captured. But the flycatcher is awesome. It might benefit by adding a subtle vignette which would tone down the bright BG a bit. Well done.
Excellent images; that car image should not have posted in this lot; it is an entirely different subject which needs separate attention; while you post such one as one among the lot, it won't get the required attention
I removed it but for different reasons
Unfortunatelly when I saw this thread , 'shattered' was removed already, so I can't comment on it I really like the flycatcher images .
I reposted an amended version of it in the October Monthly Competition and therefore, it cannot be commented on for a bit, yet.
It's fine if that's your choice but it's not a requirement of the competition. It's common that images are posted in the discussion threads and posted simultaneously or later in the monthly competition. Even Donald, who administers the competition, has posted his own images in the discussion threads and then posted them later in the competition. Your image is certainly deserving of being entered into the competition.
EDIT: You might have noticed the following posted in the thread dedicated to the competition: "4. Please don't make comments on competition entries (or "Likes" / "Helpful") until after the winners have been announced." That statement applies only to that competition thread, not to any comments people want to make about an image also posted in another thread.
Nice set Chris.
Very enjoyable series Chris. Love that Flycatcher.
Very nice images!
