    (sphex pensylvanicus) Great Black Wasp - if this thing had stung me you would have heard about it in Cambridge It's about 35mm long.

    You and your bird watching friends always gets the last say, er, shot. My favourite in this series is the last one of the bee shot.
    That was brilliant! I think that is the third shot, I don't recall...unless I scroll. Do you mind number them when you have more than three? My mind is slipping sideways a little bit to the alzhie side...

    I didn't know that wasp is a wasp - and I certainly didn't know they sting. I see this things all the time, I thought they were just some kind of emaciated fly. I like the captures of the bee.
