What the...? You'll have to explain what is going on with the bail, Grahame. At first I thought the guy had caught it and his thumb had suffered a blow (turned white). Then I wondered if the bail had been broken in two. Aside from that, good action shot. The guy who threw that ball probably deserves a place on our (currently pathetic ) team.

    Greg,

Both the bails are in the air but just happen to line up with the fielders hands, making one of them appear as his 'finger'

It's cropped from this shot and I need to clone that b****y orange cone.

    Four in the air

I decided to have a busy afternoon at the cricket in the park to exercise my reflexes

Couldn't have been better could it even if you supported the team in the field? Everything, including the wicket, is airborne. Great timing but you do need to clone out the orange cone. The guy in the slips must be feeling a bit uncomfortable.

Those cones are a bit of a pain John

I always support the team that provides the best photographic opportunities, it confuses those near me

The full image tells a different story alright. I thought the initial post was a throw from the outfield. But now I see the batsman is clean bowled.

Just this minute finished working on the full series Izzie and will post a few of my favourites in a new thread tomorrow.

Shot cricket with both the D800 and D300 this weekend, I'm still in love with the old D300

I know -- You taught me how to operate my D300s and for that I will forever be grateful. I am now sorry to have given my D300s to my DIL. I am in the market for one if I can find one as good or one of those DX with 24 mgpx to swap that D300s with her instead as I am not sure I can find one as good as what I have there.

Great image, timing and a nice bit of bowling. Looks like all that exercise worked.
