    Here's how it works ...

    - You good folks post MONOCHROME images in the thread (please change your post title to a name for your picture) (Click the "Go Advanced" button)

    - When we get 10 images we will attach a voting poll

    - After 3 days the poll closes and the winner is declared!

    - If you would especially like some critique after the competition poll closes, please make it known in the post

    Too easy eh?

Limit of 1 image per post, and 2 image posts per person.

If there are already 10 in the current comp, please start a new thread.

    The old bridge

This is an old foot-bridge that used to cross a stream on the beach. They left it there (probably too heavy to move) when the built a new one. Oxwich Bay beach, Gower, West Wales.

    Energy to Survive

I was going to post this in the Energy comp' as 'energy to survive', but was told I was having 1 of my more obtuse moments so gave up on that idea.....however I have to post him somewhere just to show you all how brave I was getting, to be within focal range of this hideous beast

    Monochrome Mini Competition #43

p.s viewers note - insects were harmed in the process of filming - I drowned him

Kay,We really do seem to be on the same track. I never do bugs, but yesterday almost ran into this one so I took some shots. Mine's just an ordinary garden spider. Yours looks very scary to me. Is it a tarantula?

Wendy, "I cannot tell a lie" - it is too a small garden spider, that is the only reason I could go near it - the ones which are about the size of my hand! - are called Huntsmans and while everyone tells me they are not poisonous, I am terrified of them

I do really like the 'Zebra' stripes on your guys legs though - Dave tells me they're beautiful creatures.

Lovely clean image John. Can you post a larger image? It would make viewing easier.

You can post an image up to 700 px on the long side. Do you know how to do that on FLICKR? Need help?

    Hi again John,

Try this link, step 2 maybe where you're going astray.
How to "Direct link" images into your posts

    Good luck,
