    Need Help With This One

Does this look correct as far as being balanced in the frame? Does it need a rotation?

    Thanks

I think just a little bit off the bottom might help. I think the rotation is fine using the vertical element on the dam in the top right corner.

A tricky composition, agree the wall is your best unless you just eye it for perfection.

I think what is disconcerting to me is the reflection in the pool in the foreground. It's not clear that it is water, yet looks like the hill behind. It takes away from the falls themselves. I know you didn't ask for input on this but that is what I see. As far as the rotation I think you hit it perfectly.

Thanks all for the feedback and comments. I agree that the reflections distracts from the falls a little.

The composition is a challenge and I have difficulty processing the pic.

    Jim,

Going by the vertical column right top and assuming the edge was built vertical I would say it needs 0.7 degree CCW rotation. (opened it up real large to check)

As for balance, here's an option, BUT, I far prefer your original

When I look at my images of waterfalls, I always have to think if I have got the alignment correct. In this image of the Aysgarth Falls in Yorkshire:

I look at the line of each rim and see that it is slightly sloping. I have to tell myself that only a line just at the level of my eyes should be exactly horizontal, so all these slopes are valid.

This waterfall differs from Ziggy's in that these are natural edges over which the water is flowing, and not artificial.
