Cricket in the Park

Here's a few for the cricket enthusiasts.

Having waited a year for our rebuilt sports ground and stadium to be completed in our capital city this was my first outing at the now impressive venue. It has magic grass that we are told will withstand our rugby teams also and water drainage that's supposed to stop it turning into swamp like before

All they need to do now is ban parking all around it and ditch the orange cones so that it's more photographer friendly

No 5 - During the last half hour the singing from the supporters can only be described as awesome so I thought they deserved a picture too.

Very good sports photography. You've got the backgrounds out of focus enough that they don't really distract, in my opinion, from the action.

One thing I notice from the full series (which is wonderful) - you don't have any of a bowler in action. ??

Your are right Donald and I have checked through the pile of other shots (not in the web series) and only have one of a bowler, which is not good enough to post.

Something to concentrate on next time, but that means risking possibly missing the flying bails

No 4 is one of my favourites also, because it's one of those shots that reminds me of what my gear is capable of and anything produced that's not as good is totally down to the operator

We do not have cricket sports here where I live and I nearly but forgotten how the game is played. I was still living in Australia when Shane Warne was playing...Anyway, I was looking at the whole series in your smugmug and can't really decided which ones I like...they are all good. I kept wondering before (and now) why those men wear white then wipe the ball on their pants. 'Must be a pain to wash those uniforms...
