I know a number of Mac users who recommend this software. It is no different than someone recommending the Nik Collection, OnOne or Topaz. It is basically a set of plugins that are Mac only.

    Manfred,

I see your point but often times companies will purchase ad space on a website and the host often is just doing a blurb. Now if they say I've used the program ....

In a country like the USA there are advertising standards and one of them, I believe, is that if someone is endorsing a product, he or she actually has to use it. That doesn't guarantee that there will be compliance, but hopefully someone would point the Advertising Standards Authority at them and appropriate action is taken.

I recall emigrating from England in the mid-eighties; back then in the UK they had the 'Trades Descriptions Act'.

On moving in over here, it became evident that some translation was needed when reading labels or watching ads on TV.

For example "Super Mega Ultra Heavy Duty" means barely strong enough for the job.

    Don't get me started on "resolution" . . .

    Re: Editing Software

I have noticed that ON1 is coming out with a new raw editing engine in November. What led me to that information is I am using ON1 resize on trial for one month. So far it is doing a good job. I do use Photoshop to resize an image but ON1 resize seems to do a bit better job of it. If I decide to keep Resize it will cost me $80.OO USD. ON1 is offering their entire photo suite (including their new raw engine) for $100.00 USD with no subscription. Now I'm thinking for $20.00 I may pop for the suite. I also downloaded their filters which is a freebie. I'm thinking this new raw engine may give PS some competition. If I decide to try out the new raw engine I will try to post anything I find out about it here. The raw engine covers a ton of camera brands so ON1 has been doing their homework. That's all for now. JB

Recently viewed a review by Tony Northrup where he alluded that some in his profession might be making reviews because they were paid or compensated with gear to make their review. Tony said he couldn't be 100% sure because he hadn't seen the suspected individual's contract; but he felt this type of behavior was a detriment to the consumer. If I find the episode again I'll link to it.
