has anyone experience with the Spiderpro Holster?

I'm looking for something to have my second camera ready to shoot with me.
A bag is not a real option however the equipment is best protected in there, but during wedding shoots on location I want to switch quickly between the wide zoom and tele zoom.
I have seen the Spider Pro Holster on the internet and wonder if people have practical experience or even better options to switch easy between two bodies.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I own a Spider Holster and love it.It's great to not have to use a neck strap. If I do need to carry 2 cameras I use the Spider and Black Rapid strap(for 2nd camera)http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/rs-7/ Here's another system that gets good reviews.

    Thanks Jim,

Last Friday I have seen a guy using this Blackrapid strap. He was very happy with it.
Sounds good that you use both. Maybe I will opt for this.

BTW According to your avatar you are King Crimson Fan?. Fantastic music!

Sorry, I've nothing to say about fancy holsters as I know nothing but I had to sound a note of approval to the Court of the Crimson King artwork.

I was very suprised the other day to hear a sample of 21st Century Schizoid man in a rap song by Kanye West as I was listening to the radio.

Ha I remember hearing a cover version of 21st Century Schizoid Man in 1979 by a Canadian band April Wine. Not my kind of thing really. It didn't sit with my Motorhead/Ramones image at the time. God I was a long haired greasy Kneb in those days. Whoops I think we may be digressing

I have one, and when used with my camera I have to say that works exactly like the videos. Don't laugh (too loudly!) but I got mine to hang my light meter from!

I've always been a fan of somewhat "spacey" music.Have you heard of the band Captain Beyond?

Oh yes,April Wine, good band. I've not listened to much music by Motorhead or the Ramones.A little too heavy for me.
Pink Floyd is one of my favorite bands.

    Yes. (I'm a wimp)

Nah - in all seriousness, it was starting to annoy me ... the nearest table is several metres away and having to grab it after light changes (which were several more metres away) was just another momentum breaker that I didn''t need. I have a small hand strap attached to it, but what does one do with the unit when not using it? I also tried a long strap and hang it around my neck, but it would swing around too much and was only a matter of time before I broke it (and it's a $1000 light meter!).

So I thought I'd give the Spider a go. Seems OK so far, although I've learned than when I'm lying on the floor for certain types of shots there's still a danger of damaging it (concrete floor).

Perhaps I can add a few more releases and then add a drink bottle / baton / hand cuffs etc

Re: has anyone experience with the Spiderpro Holster?

    thanks for the feedback guys.

The way Jim discribes, combo of Spider pro and blackrapid sound very good.
I will keep you posted about my choice.

About King Crimson, yes I know I started to get of topic The first album I got was USA. A live album and still I listen to it quite a lot when driving alone in my car. My wife would kill me if I would pay it load with her next to me
But it's very difficult to find CD's of their old LP albums over here in the Netherlands. I'm still looking for the album RED on CD wich is my favorite but others are also on my wishlist.

Keep in mind also that you can add another "mechanism" to the other side of the Spider belt, although I'm guessing one might start to feel a bit like "Robocop".

    Hey that's me!
    Just joking.

However I just was tipped by someone else with this device:
    http://www.blackrapid.com/product/ca.../double-strap/
She seems to be very happy with it. In fact Jim's strap but then double.
    Interesting as well.

Re: has anyone experience with the Spiderpro Holster?

This afternoon I went to a store and checked out the spider and Black-Rapid products.
Finally I decided to go for the Black-Rapid double-strap DR-1.
I have to get used to it that on both sides a camera hangs around but it does not feel heavy like if you carry a bag with your stuff.

Thanks all for thinking with me!

    Two things occur to me Hans;
    1) You're lucky to have a store where they stock that kind of stuff
    2) Did it come with the pretty girl on the web site?

Good luck with it by the way.

    Cheers,

Re: has anyone experience with the Spiderpro Holster?

    Thanks Dave,

Yes of course the pretty girl was included.
With the spider this guy from that webmovie was included so it made my decision very easy

As I mentioned I have to get used to it but that seems to be a matter of time. But the most difficult thing is how explain my wife why this nice lady is attached to my gear
