Am wondering what your thoughts were about the composition Dean. In particular, why you chose that the tractor should fill such a small proportion of the whole frame and why, instead, you chose to show so much grass?
I dunno, it actually works for me Donald,
I really like the colours Dean.
There are a few marker poles(?) in the BG I would clone out though.
... because the poor old fella's not up to mowing any morewhy, instead, you chose to show so much grass?
I like how its exposed but a crop would be a bit more dynamic, not easily to convey dereliction when so colorfully captured.
Donald and John,
Thanks for the comments. It wasn't so much the dereliction that got my attention, but the colors in the grass during the rain.
Dave,
Appreciate to comments.
I'm with Dave rather than Donald! Although on very close inspection I can only see trees/branches in the background, no poles..
Nice image, works for me!
Really like this image and you are right the colour is great.
Gorgeous details, color and quality of light. Perfect depth of field.
Hi Dean I think I'm with Donald for this image. I would crop about half of the FG grass. Lovely colors and light.
I didn't have to make an opinion on who I have to side with, do I? I agree with your feelings here about the yellow colour. It is an attractive shot punctuated by the old tractor's rusts and shape.
I prefer it as in the OP, probably because I like the whole thing (especially the grass) and don't really see it as intended to highlight the tractor.
Thanks to all for your comments. I'll continue working on the shot.
This would be a good example of minimalism if you made the tractor smaller, and moving farther away to include more of the pasture.
The most beautiful part of this image is at the top where straw yellow, pale green and black merges painterly...
If foreground grass were the main interest, then the tractor is a "dis-tractor", i feel. So i would crop some foreground and give prominence to the tractor
